1What it means in plain English
The fuel pressure in the fuel rail is lower than the engine computer expects, so the engine may be starved of fuel under load.
2Common causes
- Weak or failing fuel pump
- Clogged fuel filter
- Leaking fuel line or pressure regulator
- Faulty fuel pressure sensor
- Restricted fuel sock or pickup in the tank
3Can I drive?
Do not keep driving if the engine stumbles, loses power, or stalls; have it towed or diagnosed first. Low fuel pressure can make the engine cut out in traffic and can cause lean-running damage.
