The intake air temperature is higher than the engine computer considers safe, which can reduce power and can be a sign the engine or its sensors are overheating.

- High ambient temperature or heat soak after stopping
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor
- Damaged wiring or connector
- Restricted airflow or missing intake ducting
- Engine overheating nearby
3Can I drive?
Drive gently and let the car cool. If the temperature gauge is high, the engine overheats, or power is reduced, stop safely and have it diagnosed. Have the sensor checked if it keeps returning.
